Worldwide Volvo is a benchmark brand for safety, security and performance. Though it has been bought by Chinese automaker Geely, the Swedish manufacturer hasn’t changed a lot about design, performance and safety. Volvo is still a car that represents a very good value for money and targets a superior segment in terms of money and social status.

Recently, Polestar, a Volvo Motorsport and Performance car tunner from Sweden, has built a street version of the new Volvo S60 which competes with same other performance cars from the same segment, including the new Mercedes C63 AMG, BMW M3, and Audi RS4. The Volvo S60 Polestar Concept has 508 bhp, with 575 Nm torque, achieving a 0-60mph in under 4s. All this performance is developed by a Garret 3171 turbocharger on the T6 engine. The engine has suffered several upgrades, including a change of the cylinder heads, conrods, combustion chambers , inlet manifold and air intake.

The Swedish car tuner, Polestar, also did an extensive work concerning aspects of the car’s performance. For example, the weight of the vehicle has been reduced by 204 pounds. The power is engaged through a six-speed manual transmission with an electronic limited-slip differential at the back, via a Hidex AWD system. The car comes equipped with Brembo 380 mm ventilated discs brakes, with a six-piston calipers in front and 302 mm ventilated disks on the rear axle.

Unfortunately this is a concept car, which means that there is only one made in the worlds and it has been already sold in the USA for $300.000.
However, Volvo officials said that the concept car turned a lot of heads and Volvo S60 Polestar Concept is a success and could be implemented into mass-production.

Whats the main factor for this much of price??
